One of Those Days!
Weill and Anderson’s September Song has the lyrics, ‘The days dwindle down to a precious few,’ but I changed the words. ‘The pieces dwindled down to a precious few’ as I started working on the vanity I am putting together.
Except hello!
I had to change my tune when I discovered the pieces had dwindled down to one too few! My song became an old Righteous Brothers tune Lost that Lovin’ Feelin’ because somewhere along the way I lost a blinkin’ screw that was necessary to my project and believe me, I lost that lovin’ feelin’ right along with the screw. I looked all over and ran the huge magnet along the floor for way too long, found nothing, got my panties in a knot because of that and a few other reasons. I finally found a screw that would work in my tool box and continued the project.
I finished the one drawer and two doors before I totally lost my patience. Bending over to attach the final two hinges was very frustrating. I didn’t realize until later I had blown out some blood vessels in my eye. Having one’s panties in a knot and bending – hmm. Not a good combination.
I got on the floor to try a better angle. Didn’t work. Needed to call the tow truck to get me up. Finally made it by myself. Gave up trying for a while. Went back to it and finally got ‘er done. Not my best work ever, but it will do.
I rearranged some furniture to accommodate the new vanity. Totally doesn’t work where I put everything, so I’ll be moving furniture again tomorrow. I’ll probably blow out the other eye, but at least they’ll match.
I hate it when a plan doesn’t come together!
My blood pressure doesn’t either. I’ve got to finish this blog with a calming word of Scripture before I stroke out!
1 Peter 5:7 ‘Casting all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you.’
Philippians 4;6-7 ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’
Isaiah 26:3 ‘You (God) keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.’
2 Thessalonians 3:16 ‘Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace at all times in every way.’
Through the years, I’ve blogged about the effect music has on calming my soul. More and more as I lean into God’s Truth, I am comforted.
Shoulda thought of that earlier today, for sure!!!
Blessings
Kara Beth
