Tough as Bird Poop!

Yep, folks. That’s my goal! I want to be as tough and resilient as bird poop!

Herein lies the tale.

A long while back, bird poop appeared on the window I constantly look through as I sit in my recliner writing my words of extreme wisdom. As I do crafts, I also glance toward the distance to keep my eyes from tiring as I do the intricate cross stitch.

Every time I look out, I think, ‘Get up, old lady, and clean the dern window!’ Then I think, ‘No, one more paragraph’ or ‘I’ll do it after I finish this last thread.’

I get up, forget about it, and get on with other projects. The bird poop has taken permanent residence and has refused to be removed.

It’s rained hard several times since the bird deposited its droppings inappropriately on our window. As I got up last night during the storm, I thought surely the torrents of rain that were flying directly against the glass would cause the window to be clean this morning.

Nope. That disgusting blob stood firm against a mighty force. Amazing!

So …

This morning, I decided that bird poop that strong and determined deserved a blog extolling its virtues of strength and resilience. I took a picture, and here I am.

There are two sides to being that strong I think – one side bad, one side good.

Yep. An object lesson in the making.

Sometimes, I let the bad habits in my life continue unchallenged or wrong and plain ol’ sinful attitudes stick to my spirit like disgusting bird poop. I need to stop procrastinating and clean up my life in both areas. Period. Immediately if not sooner!

On the other hand, whatever causes the poop which is slimy when it first falls on a surface to harden and adhere to the slick glass is an analogy for my wish. I want the things that flow from me to be lasting and make an impact for God. I want to stand firm against anything that would come against or between me and my family. I don’t think bird poop is fearless against the fierce rain, but I pray I can be as I stand firm and strong in my beliefs that God has me protected and safe despite any storm, any battle, any disaster that comes my way.

So …

When you look at me, just remember I’m a bird poop wanna be! Have a giggle.

Then remember these Truths –

Ephesians 6:10   ‘Be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.’

Psalms 73:26   ‘My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.’

Exodus 15:2   ‘The Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him and I will exalt Him.’

Blessings
