A Great Adventure!

Ronald and I were headed for a boring afternoon. I suggested going on an adventure, looked at my phone, and found how to get to a place I have wanted to visit since we moved here.

So off we went!

Within a short time we arrived at Jungle Paradise Daylilies on the outskirts of Dawsonville. What fun!

Even though it was the totally wrong time of year to see the magnificent plants, we saw enough gorgeous blooms to guarantee we will be back come spring! Pots of her plants will be purchased and will adorn our tiny front yard (if they ever get the mess cleaned up from the lightning strike!).

The owner, Suzanne, took time from tending the garden to drive us all around in her cart. The tour included seeing one garden from her back porch where she explained her business of developing hybrid daylilies. I can’t imagine the hours she puts in to care for such an enormous area of blooms.

Being the off season, it was very quiet and peaceful as we drove beside the little stream and around various flower beds. Not only does she have the lilies, there were everything from azaleas to banana trees.

The cabana had comfortable furniture, and I’m sure in the spring it will be a beautiful view. There is a picnic area, playground, and even a cabin for rent.

It was an adventure worth taking!!!

We asked for a suggestion for a close place to eat, and she suggested Fajita Grill. We don’t usually go into the older section of Dawsonville, but we took her advice. Yum! I don’t think I’ve ever had guacamole dip that was as good as what they serve! And I wasn’t even hungry!

Sometimes, God surprises us with joyful moments. Today was such a time.

I’m only going to give you one verse today, but I encourage you to look around for the simple beauties in your surroundings. Are there puffy clouds with beautiful sunsets? Are there fascinating creatures that flit around your garden? Take a moment to enjoy God’s wonderful and varied creations.
