How Does He Do That?
Can you figure out the picture above?
Right. Crazy white hairs all down my front.
The Bible says God knows the number of hairs on our heads. Bless His heart! I can’t figure out how He does that! Every few seconds, I am removing a loose hair that is tickling my neck. When I wash my hair, I have to clean the drain every time. Drying and brushing my hair produces an avalanche of silver strands that showers over my shoulders, down my front, and on to the floor unless I use my handy lint sticky thing. God must have assigned a special hair counting angel for me! I am surprised I am not bald.
Yeah, I have a few thin spots, but what the what? As if wrinkly skin and age spots weren’t enough! Good grief!
Not that I’m complaining. God loves me despite my obvious old age challenges. But like I said, Bless His Heart. How in the world does He put up with me?
He has to keep up with watching out for me all the time. What clumsy move will I make next?
He has to remind me to keep my mouth shut when I want to express something less than the godly behavior He prefers. And that’s just a teeny bit of what God does for me.
There are so many ways God helps not only me, but those all over the world who depend on Him.
God heals the broken hearted. He guides our steps. He generously supplies the wisdom we need. His presence means joy in our lives. God blesses in so many ways in providing our physical and emotional needs. Peace and rest are granted to the most anxious among us.
His mercy is not giving us what we deserve, and His grace is getting what we don’t deserve. Both are wonderful advantages of being a believer in Jesus’ sacrificial atonement. That results in salvation and eternal life in eternity with God.
The bigger question is not How He cares for us, but Why?
It is truly mind boggling that God made us in His image to have fellowship with Him. 1 Corinthians 1:9 NKJV says, ‘God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.’
1 John 3:1 MSG says, ‘What marvelous love the Father has extended to us! Just look at it – we’re called children of God! That’s who we really are!’
Do I understand it totally? Nope.
But even if the how and why of God’s love for me is impossible to comprehend, I’ll believe it through eternity!
Blessings
Kara Beth
