Who Am I?

In my ‘maturity’ I’m analyzing my life. I have been a wife for over 54 years, I’ve been a mother, a teacher, and overall a creative crazy woman. But mostly, I pray I’ve been what God wants me to be. Sometimes, I wonder about what God thinks of me.

This Christmas, we gave mostly money as per usual, but I wanted to give some little something to the grandkids. Something to remind them how special they are. As I was going through my Facebook, I happened to see an ad for the perfect product to fit the bill.

Not only are my grandkids special to Ronald and me, they are special to God. Super Special! I ordered the girls and boys ornaments then decided there was one I would like to have for myself. I hang it on the knob of my sewing lamp where I can be reminded of the truths it portrays.

No object lesson today. Just Scripture to explain each word’s reference.

God says I am:

Chosen     As we align ourselves with God’s will we see in John 15:16 how Jesus describes our purpose. ‘You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.’

Protected    Psalm 121:7 ‘The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.’ Our souls are the Real part of who we are.

Family and Special    TLB phrases Ephesians 2:19 this way – ‘Now you are no longer strangers to God and foreigners to heaven, but you are members of God’s very own family, citizens of God’s country, and you belong in God’s household with every other Christian.

Important    The Message Bible has a neat interpretation of 1 Peter 2:9-10. ‘But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling, a priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do His work and speak out for Him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference He made for you – from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.’

Treasured     Deuteronomy 4:2 TLB says, ‘You belong exclusively to the Lord your God, and He has chosen you to be His own possession.’

Precious     1 Corinthians 6 NKJV tells us we are a temple of God. ‘For you were bought at a price: therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God’s.

I would challenge anyone who happens to read this blog to find other verses to support these concepts.

Then take time to think about the truths. Remember them in good times and times of distress.

Blessings

Kara Beth
