Revenge
Well, glory! I’m rather on a tear today!
Phony emails offering everything from weird medicines to new roofs are bad enough. Add daily annoying phone calls from an opposing political group or another begging money for an illegitimate charity and you’ve got the makin’s for this old lady to have her panties in a knot!
The other morning I wanted to see if the eagle had landed since it was payday. Well before the bank opened, I checked my online account. Lo and behold! There were three checks made out to the same person for the same amount to someone I didn’t recognize. Somehow they had the proper routing number and account number. They had tried to make out an official looking check by typing our names and address. They were so stupid, they misspelled Ronald’s name.
Thankfully, our neighbor in Thomaston is our banker, and she dealt with everything immediately. I was so rattled, momentarily I couldn’t even remember where the @ sign was on my computer! You can’t imagine how relieved I have been as our bank oversees every single debit that comes through.
I thought I was past the aggravation.
Wrong.
For the past two days, I have found my Facebook page was hacked.
Folks! That means the annoying META Captcha rigamarole is MALARKY!
It is so frustrating to find my special means of corresponding with friends and relatives has been compromised. They too are being targeted. Other than a rant now and then, my FB page is harmless. The blogs I post are meant to amuse, encourage, and edify others.
What the heck are these guys thinking? I am an old lady with nothing but good in my heart.
Or it was until this happened!
Bless my heart! You do NOT want to know what I’ve been thinking!
But you are going to hear it anyway.
When and if these people are found I want them strung up by their toenails and be skinned alive!
Of course, they’ll never be found. If they are, they’ll get a slap on the wrist and go on their merry way terrorizing, scamming, and stealing innocents’ information along the way.
But, one of the precepts of my recent Bible study had this interesting story … For some reason Michael the Archangel and satan (I spell it with a small s because he has less power in my life than he thinks and in reality, just as God deserves a big ‘G’, he who shall not be named deserves even a smaller than normal ‘s’) anyway – the two were arguing over the body of Moses. – Totally strange story in Jude. The commentary brought out the fact that Michael didn’t rebuke the wicked one under his own name. Rather, Michael said, ‘The Lord rebuke you!’
It made sense to me. I don’t seem to have enough sense to keep from getting hacked despite ad blockers, malware apps, and everything else. And I certainly don’t have the power to control what evil does in the world. ‘The Lord rebuke you!’ seems to be my most powerful weapon to protect myself. Yeah, I pray some of David’s psalms. He did a great job of describing the wickedness of his enemies and detailing his trust in the Lord who would bring him victoriously through the trials.
So to all of you out there who are wicked, dishonest, and want to hurt others, I tell you what! The battle here is the Lord’s! SO – The Lord rebuke you!!!!!’
Here’s a final thought.
Philippians 4:6-7 ESV ‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’
And hopefully my bank account!
Blessings
Kara Beth
