Failure 101
I tell you what! If Failure was a class, I’d be getting an A+++!!!
Mercy!
First off when we moved, I got the wrong phone service and had to go back to the original company – all at great cost and inconvenience.
Next was the internet service which I still haven’t figured out properly. Internet is supposed to be with our housing package. Can’t figure that out either. It took two service calls to get Ronald’s TV working – charges above and beyond the norm. UGH!
Next has been the printer situation!!! After recently buying two extra-large ink cartridges which my old printer rejected, the thing apparently gave up the ghost. I felt like taking it outside and running over it. But after my grandson stopped by the other day and saw the papers I had thrown on the floor in a fit of frustration, he informed me his preacher’s sermon that morning was on patience and subtly suggested it might be in my best interest to watch it, I was totally embarrassed. Still totally aggravated!
But whatever.
Next was my trip to Walmart for my first printer replacement. Got it home, tried to figure it out, discovered it does not work with my Mac and the Sequoia system it runs. ARGH!!! Another trip but an easy return. Thank the Lord for that!
Next, I went to the next town to Best Buy. The people there were wonderful.
HOWEVER!
I spent over an hour on the phone with Geek Squad who helped get things set up. Except for printing wirelessly. Which I really wanted. I was able to print the first two pages of a hymn sing booklet I am preparing for the old people place where we live.
That is when I found out the truth of my most recent purchase …
In true failing form, I didn’t realize that all printers didn’t automatically print double sided pages! Who knew? Apparently not me! (Or to be grammatically correct, not I.)
And I believed all printers would print large quantities of paper. The place to put the unprinted sheets held only about 10 sheets at a time. Can I say clueless???
So, this afternoon’s excursion will be to Best Buy to return the printer. Hopefully, that will be as easy as the Walmart return.
Then I don’t know what I’m going to do. Maybe take an extra blood pressure pill. Maybe put on some loud, rockin’ Petra Praise and try to do something constructive. Maybe I’ll try to find some of the things I still can’t find in some of the bajillion boxes I have yet to sort through in the garage. UGH!
But we do get to go to supper with Missy, Jeremy, and the little ones. That’s a plus in the happy column.
After talking with one of the ladies who is headed for Ireland next week, I studied the Kells manuscripts she is going to see. Studying something fun like that is always refreshing.
Ronald and I found a new chiropractor, so a few of our aches and pains will be vexations of the past. And that’s a really good thing.
And I hope someone gets a giggle from reading of my angst. I hope the words I am going to share overpower the wild rantings of today.
Philippians 4 says to rejoice. I’m tryin’!
‘Let your reasonableness be known to everyone.’ OOPS!
‘Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.’ I’ll take it!
THANKS GOD!
Blessings
Kara Beth
