Pediatric Cancer
Here’s the sad fact of it …
Globally, over 300,000 children under the age of 19 are diagnosed with cancer every year. The number one thing I can do is pray for
- the children
- their parents
- doctors, nurses, all support staff
- and the emotions and spiritual well-being of them all.
Number two … I wrote about this project last year when we were able to deliver bags already filled by my sister-in-law and her sewing group. Though we never got to see the CHOA patients, I believe they enjoyed their special surprises. This year, we will be taking bags Kathie’s group has made and filling them with the items which were given at our ‘Celebrate Life’ party. Thanks to the generosity of my family and friends, we will be stuffing 15 bags with toys, games, books, and all sorts of fun stuff. You can’t really see how deep the gifts are stacked on our pool table and my exercise table. It’s so amazing!!! I’m so thankful!
I’m not going to write much here, but I am sharing ‘before’ pictures showing the generosity of my guests.

When the bags are packed, I’ll post those pictures as well.
1 Timothy 6 encourages righteous living. Believers are ‘to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share … so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.’ ESV
The Living Bible says it this way – ‘trust should be in the living God who always richly gives us all we need for our enjoyment.’ Timothy was told to instruct his people ‘to use their money to do good. They should be rich in good works and should give happily to those in need, always being ready to share with others whatever God has given them. By doing this, they will be storing up real treasure for themselves in heaven – it is the only sage investment for eternity! And they will be living a fruitful Christian life down here as well.’
