Hoarder

Yep. That’s me. As I went through another folder of ‘keepers’, I found these gems I had hoarded for a LONG time. And in this case of hoarding, I am not apologizing.

I was very glad I saved these two poems and one cartoon. I hope by reposting the cartoon I don’t get into copyright trouble, but it’s too good not to share.

For years that cartoon was on my refrigerator as a constant reminder. You can tell by the two poems’ stained and aged coloring that they were on my refrigerator even longer. Probably nearly 5o years of saving those things one would think they are no longer applicable. But no. The truth of all these things holds, not just for our children. Every time we have the opportunity to offer some kind words and encouragement, touch others with love and understanding, put aside our own desires and ‘busyness’ to meet another’s physical or emotional needs, we are fulfilling Jesus’ command to love one another.

.

As I struggle with packing and party planning, I’m getting a little frazzled. But here’s the Truth to end my day that’s even better than what I already shared.

Philippians 4:6-8 NKJV. ‘Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, it there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things. The things which you learned and receive and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.’

Blessings
