Call the Tow Truck!
I couldn’t decide what to name this post. Alternate titles were, ‘Another One Bites the Dust’ or I’ve Fallen and I Can’t Get Up’.
At least it wasn’t falling from a tall ladder. I was trying to remove some macramé straps around part of a shelving unit. It might distract a home buyer because it was blue and too ‘personal’. Ugh!
Back in my younger days, I would have popped right up when I felt the stool collapsing. I tried to get up when I felt it going but one foot was tucked under the stool, and I was simply too weak to keep from going down. I needed a camera to catch my slow motion fall. I could send the video to one of those stupid ‘Fail’ shows.
It took some figuring, and scooting, and Ronald pulling for all he was worth to get me to a standing position.
I wonder – will I still be klutzy when I get to heaven? Mercy!
We don’t usually work on Sundays, but my house is a disaster area! With all the spackling and sanding I did yesterday, dust is all over. Though I put a few things where they belong outside in boxes, the place is still a mess. I couldn’t even put on my long black skirt I wore to church this morning until I was ready to walk out the door lest it get covered with dust.
All I can say is, moving is not for sissies! OR weaklings. OR maybe even for the coordinationally challenged. (Yeah, the computer told me that isn’t a word, but you get my drift.)
Ronald is dreading tomorrow’s moving challenge. Since we are going to ‘civilization’ for a dental appointment, I am ‘suggesting’ we go find curtains to match the boring ‘linen’ colored walls that have been suggested rather than my sweet blue sheers. Ugh!
I’ll let him take us out to lunch as a reward for having to go shopping. And of course, I have to get more tubs, cardboard boxes, and who knows what else. All the YouTube videos say 30-50% of your stuff in closets has to be removed to show a house.
How did anyone ever sell a house in the old days when we didn’t know all this stuff?
Anyway. The old man and I decided to call it a day, so I’ll sit and stitch a while. Can’t fall from my sturdy electric chair – unless the electricity goes off like it did one time when I was sitting there. And yes, I did fall as I tried to climb out of it. Yep, been doin’ the falling thing for years.
Sigh.
But you know what? I’ve got a lot to be thankful for, and I’m going to end this with a note of praise!
Psalm 106:1 ESV ‘Praise the Lord! Oh give thank to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!’
Psalm 69:30 ‘I will praise the name of God with a song; I will magnify Him with thanksgiving.’
What are you thankful for today?
Blessings
Kara Beth
