Baby Brother Guest Blog!
WARNING!
I am going to do a photo dump that my relatives will probably enjoy. The rest of my readers (the few that there are) will have to deal!
I am thrilled to post the guest blog sent by my precious baby brother. Like Kenneth, I’m not sure how we got so old so quickly, but facts are facts and pictures mostly don’t lie. In just a few breaths, this
became this
then this.
Anyway…Here is his delightful blog.
I NO LONGER LIVE IN TEXAS
I woke up this morning and realized I no longer live in the state of Texas. I live in a permanent state of tiredness! Yesterday was another long day working in the heat. I worked from 1100 to 1530 on installing the ledger board on the house for the back porch roof project. I got that installed, and I was done.
Is this what happens when you get old? Am I getting old? My mind says, ‘I’m younger than my years.’ My body responds with, ‘No, you’re falling apart. You’re just too stubborn or stupid to realize it.’
I think I’ll stick to what my brain says.
I’ve always loved fiction, so I’ll live that story. Reality be damned! Although working less and resting more does have a very strong appeal. Maybe it’s not fiction so much as it is fantasy.
Young and strong, swashbuckling through these later years.
Yeah. That’s a more fitting image. Hey! If I’m going to lie to myself, why not make it a beautiful and bold story of overcoming adversity in the face of uncertainty. I like that one.
Yep, that’s me.
Ken Sheek
Ken writes all the time, and I am always bugging him to let me read his work. I am so glad he shared this and allowed me to post it.
Blessings to all.
