Waste of Time!?!?!
No cotton-pickin’ puzzle is going to get the best of me! Even if I have to finish it by myself! Even if it takes me three weeks!
Argh! The thing finally got finished today. The problem is other than wasting my time by the hour, I purchased a set of four 1000 piece puzzles by the same artist. Though they are very hard, I am too cheap to get rid of them. I’m sure I will continue to go a wee bit crazy (crazier) doing them all.
I am waiting for my sewing machine to be fixed, so I needed something constructive to do and puzzling was the choice. That many pieces is just plain nuts! It really isn’t constructive at all except to work on my hand/eye coordination maybe. Maybe a little bit of a brain enhancer as I look for shapes and patterns. Like I said, a waste of time.
Except…
I put in my earplugs, turn on my gospel music, and commence to prayin’!
And I am as determined a prayer warrior as I am a puzzle finisher!
And guess what? I even believe my prayers will be answered!
There are prayers for protection and spiritual growth for family and friends I pray daily. The caveat of course is praying for God’s will to be done in each life. 1 John 5:14-15 says we can have confidence in God as we ask anything according to His will, and we can have assurance He hears us.
I pray Jeremiah 15:16 that God will give all believers good in their lives with a future and a hope that comes from God Himself.
I know from 2 Peter 3:9 and other verses that God wants relationship and is not willing that any should perish, but all should come to repentance. You’d better believe I’m praying for that most of all!
Finally, I pray for myself that God’s will is evident in my life that I bear abiding fruit, John 15:16.
A long time ago, I claimed the verse about ‘enlarging my tent’. Whether I got it right or not theologically, I have been praying other people would be counted in my spiritual ‘family tent’ as I have tried to show God’s love. As I have taught little ones or invested in teens or adults, I pray each person I mention to the Father will be drawn to Him and grow daily in the knowledge of His Truth.
Waste of time? Not a chance!
Blessings
Kara Beth
