What’s Your Sign?
Every street corner is filled with political signage that is totally unreadable as you speed down the highway. Even at a stoplight, the lettering is too small to read from that distance. Sadly, there is not an ounce of imagination among them! Only one person in town uses a uniquely colored sign.
I’ve been thinking about what my signs would look like if I were running for office. They definitely would be more unusual than I’ve ever seen. (Surprise, right?) The images would reflect the two sides of my campaign.
First off, I would have just a few enormous signs with pictures of Boudicca leading the troops into battle. She would be in rich shades of bronze on an ivory background with my name in bold Lucida Sans Demibold Roman font in goldish black. Below I would simply list the top three concerns of my very opinionated, conservative, extremely right wing agenda.
OR
I would have a series of floating images of a cute little fairy godmother flitting above a huge sign giving my name in large, sparkly lettering.

Below my name would be #1 my pro-life stance, #2 the Golden Rule – just the two words because everybody knows what that means whether they follow it or not, #3 – I can’t decide. I am so opinionated about so many issues.
If I were going to really express my opinions, I’d make the fairy godmother zap everyone so they would have a Come-to Jesus session! But no one would take me seriously.
Which no one does here either, but it’s fun to be creative.
Seriously, though. As we study who is saying they stand for the beliefs we hold dear and vote accordingly, we wonder who will be strong enough to keep on track. We wonder if our votes will be properly registered. We pray the legitimate citizens of this nation will come to their senses and see the ludicrous dishonesty, malfeasance within all areas of the government sector, and outlandish spending that is ruining our dear country. And that doesn’t even include the evil and crime that is overtaking America. Lord, have mercy!
So, as we come upon the first voting of the year this Tuesday, may all believers take time to seriously intercede on our country’s behalf. Like the prophet Amos who successfully interceded for the people of his time, may we do likewise. Let’s pray for hearts to turn toward Truth so God may bless America.
Psalm 86:11 is a prayer we may pray. ‘Teach me Your ways, O Lord, that I may live according to Your Truth! Grant me purity of heart so that I may honor You.’
Blessings
