Tax Tired
I finished doing our taxes today. And I am whooped!
I started to have a Yay me! celebration, but how can I do that knowing our hard earned tax money will be spent on things I would never agree to funding?
I started to go on my usual rant about the wicked, clueless, outrageous politicians who need to start being as careful with our money as we are. That is a totally discouraging and useless waste of my time, and I just don’t have enough energy to write that much!
I wish I could go on a funny rant that would have everyone giggling at me. Just not happening. Maybe I’m as worn out and frazzled as those flags in the featured image.
I’d like to say, ‘Oh, my! How did the world get in such dire straits?’
Sadly, the world has almost always been this wicked. One doesn’t have to read far in the Bible to see things haven’t changed since the beginning.
Isaiah 1:4-6 ‘Oh, what a sinful nation they are-loaded down with a burden of guilt. They are evil people, corrupt children who have rejected the Lord. They have despised the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on Him.’ The prophet asked the people, ‘Why do you continue to invite punishment? Must you rebel forever?’ NLT
Yep. Same ol’ same ol’.
I don’t have enough influence to change one single thing politically, so I am not going to try. However, there is one course of action I know has potential to change things spiritually.
That method is Prayer. 2 Chronicles 7:14 ESV God says, ‘If My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.’ May it be so.
May the Lord help me to do my part to pray for this very sick nation.
Maranatha. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!
Blessings

This is a real downer blog. Sorry. Doing taxes and all that math will do that to a body! Math is not my friend!
