Fun Politics
First off, I want to give fair warning. I have been totally good not to go off on a political rant for months. I have not addressed the avalanche of wickedness that is sweeping our nation toward total destruction.
Haven’t I been a good girl?
Nah. I just haven’t felt like getting my panties in a knot.
But it is another big election year, and I am making no promises. I’m sure I will offend some with my political and religious views during this time. If you need to unfriend me, go for it. I am sure I will spout innumerable, right-wing, rabidly conservative truths.
I’m rather afraid however, my Facebook account will be cancelled, censored, or hacked by those who think I’m over the top in my views. However! This is fair warning … my imprecatory prayers will be storming heaven against those who would challenge my freedom to express my opinions!
Since I am anticipating the actions listed, I ask that anyone who enjoys my blogs would sign up on the little white thingy that comes up every time you read one of the blogs. I think that way the blog will go immediately to your email inbox. Can’t guarantee that, but it’s what is supposed to happen.
The thing I would regret about losing a Facebook account is my ability to connect with friends and family. I really value that network of people I care about. We’ll see how it goes.
Anyway. We have a great young woman who helps us around the house sometimes. Knowing my political views, she asked if she could display this sign as she power washed our drive. Ronald said, ‘Sure, and leave it that way!’
All I can say is, our neighbors are SO jealous and are clamoring for her number so she will decorate their driveways the same way.
And why should I wait any further into the election cycle? As long as I’m in for a penny, here’s my pound’s worth.
And you get a sermon to boot!
Proverbs 14:34 NKJV ‘Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.’
So what does ‘righteousness’ mean? To be right in God’s eyes.
How does a person know how to ‘be right?’ I’m bettin’ it’s a whole lot easier if a person is reading what the Bible has to say about living under God’s blessings.
What is sin? Basically, it is rebellion against God. Doing things contrary to His guidelines for moral living is sin. Rejecting Jesus is turning away from the true God who wants a loving relationship with His creation.
Reproach means shame or disgrace bringing rebuke or censure on a person. I’m not saying we can always be above reproach, but it is easier when one’s life is guided by the Holy Spirit of God who can live within each believer.
So there you have it. Something to think on – as it applies to individuals and to nations.
Blessings
Kara Beth
