And the Chaos Began
I’m not sure how a Pinterest game ratcheted up from bouncing ping pong balls into a cupcake tin into a full out, viciously raucous free-for-all war. Gratefully, only one sweet angel lost its life in the melee.

Four grandkids, one son-in-law, one daughter, and I ran around furiously zinging balls with wild abandon while Ronald protected himself from any misaimed missile.

My little angel baby who is smiling so sweetly in the picture above soon joined the conflict with a ruthlessness that a casual observer wouldn’t expect.

Thirty minutes later, we collected as many ping pong balls as we could find and collapsed into exhausted laughter. I made everyone promise that when the two youngest cousins reach an age where they could participate in such silliness, the older ones would make sure the ‘littles’ would have the same opportunity for wild fun.
The few days with all our immediate family here (except our oldest grandson who was ‘adulting’) tickled my fancy.

A silly teeshirt to tease the family magician, a blanket to gag the bandaid averse, and an electronic picture frame to tie our family together were among the fun gifts.

I loved taking unposed pictures that caught the sweetness of our Dylan.

Of course, there were mandatory selfies that show my idiot side, and another picture shows the youngest son-in-law displaying his excellent child herding skills.

I got a few pictures of our sweet little Josie as she sang to baby Jesus in words only she, her mama, and Jesus could understand.

I regret I missed getting a video of that, and one of Gideon amazing the older cousins with a magic trick, and one of my girls dancing and singing crazy songs as we played a game. I won’t post the video I did get of the middle of the three amigos who danced for our entertainment on multiple occasions…

To which he says, ‘Don’t even think about it, Grammie!’
Since I missed the outing last year to Callaway due to surgery’s aftermath, I was blessed this year to see our baby enjoy the lights.
Ronald and I are old coots who usually sit around quietly by the hour reading. Sometimes, we may play a quiet game of cards unless Ronald wins three in a row at which time he serenades me with ‘We Are the Champions.’ But all in all everything is still.
But I tell you what! The noise level spiraled up to absolutely delightful levels! Laughter, trash talk while playing games, and loud challenges made me smile. Even in the quiet aftermath, I giggle.
I pray I will be able to hold these memories in my mind and treasure them in my heart always.
Celebrate the memories. Though I am taking these verses out of context, maybe God will forgive. Philippians 1:3,4 NKJV ‘I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy.’
Blessings
