Yay! Dress Up Time!
I have always loved playing dress up. Any excuse, I’ll take it. I guess I’ve never outgrown pretending.
When my physical therapist said this week was dress up week, I decided to go all out for my appointment Friday. At first, Dr. Kadie suggested red and green which I don’t do. Since the office decorations are blue, silver, and sparkly, she said my usual blue would do.
Bingo! My outfit will be sort of boring, but it will fit the color scheme.
However!
As I LOVE making and wearing fascinators, I have spent the last few days thinking about that instead of dreading another therapy session. I’m sure I spent more time working on it than I will be wearing it, but who knows? Maybe she’ll see how precarious the fascinator sits atop my matching silver locks and she’ll let me out of exercising!
It’s a thought anyway. A person has got to dream.
The fascinator has loops of ribbon around an angel in the center. Of course, the loops were too much like making a bow and had my panties in a knot within the first five minutes of the process. I attached it, but it is not too sturdy. I finally was able to make it presentable though I’m thinking the sparkly twisted bands may look more Medusa-ish than angelic.
By the time I put on my silver sparkle makeup and share the glitter that keeps shedding from Medusa, my name will be synonymous with many swear words by the end of the morning. But it is my last session (for this time anyway). I’m just sharing my personal happy dust for them to remember me by!
I’m sure Hebrews 13:6 isn’t talking about glitter. TLB ‘Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have with those in need.’ I’m sure most people don’t ‘need’ glitter. What they need is an encouraging word or something as simple as a smile.
I want to live out Psalm 16:11 ‘In Your presence there is fullness of joy;’ and for His overflowing joy in me to spread as freely and stick as firmly as my scattered glitter!
Blessings
