Smiles, Grins, and Giggles

Sometimes, it’s the crazy things that make me smile.

Anyone who knows me well, knows I am not an animal lover. I don’t abuse them. I’m just not a fan. Though I will say in my ‘maturity’ and perhaps due to faulty brain patterns, I have even petted my grand dogs this year … then washed my hands immediately after. But they are cute. I’ve even played with them a bit. And I’ve talked with and sung to my grand bird. Like I said, something must be wrong with me.

But I couldn’t help myself the other day. It was a lovely day, we were on our way to Alpharetta, and lo and behold! There was a huge dog standing up in a convertible looking around. I had Ronald drive close so I could get a good picture. I’m almost positive it knew its picture was being taken and posed accordingly. We laughed and enjoyed watching the dog enjoy itself. Every time I look at the picture I smile.

Looking at pictures of our little people makes me smile. Whether 2 or 22, seeing the grandkids makes me smile. Then again, I always smile at little ones at the store or anywhere else. Charles Dickens wrote, ‘“I love these little people; and it is not a slight thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us.” God sure made some cuties for me to dote on. For that, I’m thankful. And then I grin some more.

Another thing that makes me smile is GLITTER!!! Combine that with lights, spread them all over my living area, and I am one happy camper!

I only have a few more vignettes to finish up my Christmas decorating. I am enjoying every string of lights, strand of garland, and shiny – well – anything and everything! Sometimes when it turns dark, I turn on some music and just sit and take delight in the peaceful decorations. Crazy. Right?

Or not.

As the world falls apart around us, may we all take time to find things to bring us joy.

Like the last picture reminds us, we can have God’s peace on earth – if we choose Jesus as the Savior of our lives. God’s peace can flood our lives no matter the circumstances.

I may be taking Psalm 126:3 out of context a wee bit. But maybe not. Check it out for yourself. “Yes, the Lord has done amazing things for us! What joy!’

Proverbs 31:25 I think can apply to women and men. ‘She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.’ NLT

Proverbs 15:13 NLT  ‘ A glad heart makes a happy face.’

I’ll end with this which I hope will make you smile.

Psalm 34:1-5 NLT

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together!’

Check out 4 and 5. ‘I sought the Lord, and He answered me and delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to Him are radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.’

May you find peace and joy, not in the silliness of my blog, but in the Truth of the Word.

Blessings

Kara Beth

There’s one more passage you just have to read!!! It is the blessing God told Moses to give the people. Tonight, I pray this for you. NKJV  Number 6: 24-26

‘The Lord bless you and keep you;

The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you:

The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.’
