Miracles Happen!
Writing coach, Chad R. Allen, asked his followers if they had written anything today.
I try to write every day. Sometimes it’s a blog or a few words on one of the five or so novels I am trying to work on. Many days, my writing consists of ‘atta boys’. Whether it is a helpful person on the phone, a worker at Home Depot, or a doctor who has made a difference in my life, I try to make sure I give sincere thanks to them and the powers that be in their companies.
On the flip side of that is correspondence with those whose services are less than stellar. The outcome of today’s writing borders on the miraculous! Someone actually read some of my writing!
I had received an email from a Georgia congressman listing categories for which his office would offer assistance.
Fine, I thought. He sent me an email. I’ll send him one! Here is what I sent. And yes, it is a full-blown rant.
I have tried for over 2 years to get spousal benefits for my 94-year-old mother. I, along with a social worker, filled out paperwork repeatedly, went to the local VA, and still no help. I guess the government is waiting until she kicks when it will obviously be too late. Shame on you all!!!
I am appalled that the government has allowed foreign invasion at its borders, treats the illegals better than they do our vets, and allowed the beautiful state of Texas to be overwhelmed with masses of uneducated and often dangerous aliens who have NO business crossing our borders. Have you forgotten that countries have specific borders for a reason?
Why you guys can’t do a line-item veto on the idiotic expenses you allow to pass is unconscionable. Why we are supporting the war machine in the Ukraine is beyond me. I have said in the past every politician needs to take a Dave Ramsey course. Every politician needs to be subject to the people who elect him.
So, you’ve had the infamous ‘Grammie Rant’ of the day. For more of the same, you can check out more political views on karabethhuddleston.com among other topics.
One more rant – NO ONE will take my guns. NO ONE will make me get vaxxed. I WILL NOT wear a mask again. I guess that was three rants. Deal with it. ?
As we say in the South, bless your heart!

I am still shocked! Within an hour, a lovely young lady, Libby, called from his office and said they would like to help me. I wasn’t speechless, but ‘pertin near’. When the social worker comes to help me fill out another round of paperwork next week, we will pray for another miracle.
In all of this, I keep thinking of the parable Jesus told about the persistent neighbor who kept knocking to get a loaf of bread. The neighbor finally relented because of the other’s purposeful determination. Like I said, miracles could happen.
Galatians 6:9 gives me hope in this instance and other things in my life for which I pray. ‘Let us not grow tired of doing good. In due season we will reap if we don’t give up.’ Whether God answers my prayers the way I want or not, I know He loves me and has a perfect plan for my life.
Blessings

I’ll write more unless someone from some nefarious department of our government comes knocking at my door.
