Celebrate Life
This morning, I decided I was going to write a blog about all the ways my family and I will be celebrating life this upcoming fall.
Instead, I am going to celebrate the life of a dear aunt who is celebrating her first day in heaven.
My Aunt Ruthie was a lovely, sophisticated lady. She was always dressed to the nines and had a beautiful figure to match. Like her sisters and ladies of that time and locale, she had her big, Texas hairdos done weekly. She was pretty on the outside and the inside. She wore her Christianity as beautifully as she did her clothes.
Aunt Ruthie knew how to have a good time. She and my daddy teased all the time. Her smiles and laughter brought joy to those around her. As the youngest of six, Aunt Ruthie had three older, very strong natured sisters. Her sweet personality shone through as she dispelled the lies of the ‘spoiled youngest child syndrome’ with kindness and grace.
Every baby doll I had when I was young was named Ruthie. She was my hero. I will never be the sophisticated, well dressed lady she was. She always seemed calm and in control when we were at her home. I will not ever be as successfully hospitable as she.
I could write more, but that’s enough for today to start celebrating the beautiful life of my dear Aunt Ruthie.
Blessings to the family

2 Corinthians 5:1 TLB. For we know that when this tent we live in now is taken down – when we die and leave these bodies – we will have wonderful new bodies in heaven, homes that will be ours forevermore, made for us by God Himself.
One more word. Actually 8 words.
Don’t wait until life is over to celebrate!
