Well, Glory!!!
We had a wonderful friend, Jack Jamerson, whose famous line of praise was, ‘Well, Glory!’
When I get the vic’try, I’ve repeated the line more than once. I use the line even if I don’t have the vic’try. I am a firm believer in encouraging myself. I always need a little boost of confidence and a lot more of God’s glorious presence in my life to get through the day.
This morning, I was playing piano for Mom’s home. The old folks and I love the old hymns. It’s fun. The old songs are great – especially the fast ones. We were singing, ‘When We All Get to Heaven.’
I was having such a good time, we sang the chorus twice through. But I didn’t have it out of my system.
SO
We sang the whole thing again! All four verses! If those old people coulda stood up and danced around, I think they would have. So much fun!!!
When we got Mama back to her room, I still hadn’t got the music out of my system. I got to thinkin’. Wouldn’t it be fun to be playing a good, fast tune one second and flyin’ into eternity the next?
Crazy thoughts for a lovely day.
But I still think that would be a cool way to go. Except if I passed on in the middle of song service, those old people would be droppin’ like flies!
In Hebrews 11, Paul is going through a list of those who believed God’s promises of a future life. In verse 16, he talks of those who longed to receive the promise of God. “But they were looking for a better place, a heavenly homeland. That is why God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.” NLB
And I guarantee, I am looking for that heavenly homeland as well. Shoot! I’ll bet it’s even nicer than Georgia!
I hope all you dads had a great Father’s Day.
Have a wonderful week.
Blessings
