Ever Wonder?

Did you ever wonder what the inside of an electric keyboard looked like?

Neither did I. And now that I know, I can chalk it up to one more thing I can’t figure out.

I am working on getting one of my Christian musicals online and have to redo all the music. Without plugging my computer to a midi keyboard, it is a tedious process. I haven’t figured out how to plug it into my big piano, so I thought I’d haul out the old one I used the last time for the initial input.

Nearly 30 years ago. Mercy! I blinked and the years whizzed past!

Needless to say, the little keyboard needs attention and made no sound except an eerie crackling. I noticed the batteries were corroded and thought that might be causing my problem – therefore the dismantling of the thing.

Did you know to get battery acid from something, you put vinegar on it? It foams up really neat! Whoosh!!!

So my first word of wisdom is always take batteries out of anything you are not using. I don’t even know why they were in there. I only plugged it into a socket as I remember it. But who knows? A lot of stuff has passed under the road since then.

It still doesn’t work, so I’ll let my mechanical grandson have a go at it. I’ll try again tomorrow to plug the other one to my computer. I’ve used up my patience for today.

My other word of wisdom has absolutely nothing to do with the foolishness above. Clean your dryer vents. I have a phobia about that based on experience. Fires happen.

My third word of wisdom is – celebrate the day. Find joy and peace.

“Let the whole earth sing to the Lord! Each day proclaim the good news that He saves.”   1 Chronicles 16:23 NLT

Ephesians 5:15-17 TLB “So be careful how you act; these are difficult days. Don’t be fools; be wise: make the most of every opportunity you have for doing good. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to find out and do whatever the Lord wants you to.”

If I could stop being foolish, I’d really celebrate!!!

One way to celebrate is to make music, even if the keyboard doesn’t work! Ephesians 5:20 in The Message version says, “Sing songs from your heart to Christ. Sing praises over everything, any excuse for a song to God the Father in the name of our Master, Jesus Christ.”

Blessings
