Lord, Have Mercy!
Anyone who has been reading my Facebook page these last few days has read the dire situation of a 2 1/2 year old girl named Mirabelle. I knew her mother and grandparents back in the day.
Mirabelle was diagnosed with leukemia a few days ago. The treatment has severely damaged the child. As the medical community in England struggles to save her, we pray for miracles!
I’m always posting about things I don’t understand about life in general and God in specific.
I know God loves us beyond what we can possibly imagine. I know He has a plan and purpose for everything He allows to come into our lives. Do I understand all that I just wrote? Not a clue! Just faith!!!
I have relatives who have lost their loved ones even before they were born. Others have lost family members much too soon – in human terms and understanding. Though I haven’t experienced those things personally, I know it is devastating. They carry the grief until their dying day. I’m sure the ‘why did God allow this?’ runs through their minds on a regular basis.
As much as I would like to give hope and answers to solve the issues, I can’t. Only God can.
As I am processing this devastating condition on behalf of others, I pray. I ask others to pray. When I happen upon foundations who help families experiencing the ravages of cancer, I donate to places like Jay’s Hope.
I spoke yesterday to one of the volunteers for Jay’s Hope at Dickey Farm Strawberry Festival. Her daughter was 5 when she was diagnosed with cancer. Today, the girl is 35. That simple conversation gave me hope and the determination to pray harder for Mirabelle.
My title on the blog today is a phrase I use often. Though I probably say it way too often, I hope God sees it as a sincere and never flippant expression.
As I finish this blog, I ask that God will have mercy on Mirabelle and her family. As we seek God’s face on their behalf may we be blessed by God’s love and the truth of His word.
Isaiah 30:18 – “Therefore the Lord waits to be gracious to you; therefore He will rise up to show mercy to you. For the Lord is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for Him.”
Hebrews 4:15-16 – “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have One who in every respect has been tested as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Blessings
