It Dozent Madr

Cuteness Alert!

Read through the card above!

The leaders at Mom’s residence make sure every holiday is special. Each person gets a few cards like this from some little people in the community. Mama always treasures every one and puts them on her counter for weeks.

I borrowed this one so I could take a picture. I will agree with the sweet little one. “It dozent madr wat you loke like.” The adorable sentiments were so loving with a childlike innocence. The misspellings are irrelevant when the message is so precious. When commenting on another’s words either written or oral, my daddy would say, ‘Did you understand what they meant? That’s good enough!’

Sometimes, we hold off expressing our love or appreciation to others because we are unsure of their reaction or perception of us. Sometimes, we cannot adequately say what we mean. But like the child’s card, we can share our heart and pray the recipient understands.

If I err on one side or the other, I hope I show how much I value and respect others’ contributions of blessing and kindness to me. I like giving thanks for another person’s talent or skill that impacts my life.

Even taking time to talk to a boss about a checkout person who greeted me kindly or helped me with the dern self-checkout machine makes a difference!

1 Corinthians 9 says God loves a cheerful giver. I don’t think it has to be much of anything spectacular to give another person a little boost. Sometimes a kind word, a smile, a sincere thank you, a pat on the shoulder, or a hug is enough.

Through his revelations from God, Paul knew that it was more blessed to give than receive. Proverbs 3 says to not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it. Most times it takes less than a second to give thanks.

Proverbs 11 assures us whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered.

The ultimate goal of our generosity in word and deed is stated so well in 2 Corinthians 9. “Yes, God will give you much so that you can give away much.” He goes on to say our giving will result in others giving praise to God and show we are walking in the truth of what we believe. He reminds us all to give thanks for God’s ultimate gift to us – Jesus.

Ephesians 4 “Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.” This became the source of my constant admonition to my girls, “Say what will be a blessing, or don’t speak at all.” Maybe I should take my own advice as I go on a rant WAY too many times! Oops!

Following my own advice, I want to say thanks to those who take time to read my silly blogs, my rants, and extreme words of wisdom!

Blessings
