Happy Place!!!
I know I am an old lady, but I love me some Legos!
We have passed the Lego store for years, and no one had time or patience to stop to let me browse. The other day, we had time to kill between appointments. At my whiny request, the old man reluctantly wheeled into the parking lot. I was inwardly jumping for joy.
Oh, my goodness! They had entire cities made of Legos, creatures of every sort, and bins and bins of Lego pieces. The walls were lined with boxes and tubs of long retired Lego sets. Every kind of figurine from the past posed on shelves. I wandered around oohing and aahing like some little kid!
I had to share my experience with my fellow Lego lover, my grandson. I got him on FaceTime then walked around showing him everything. Gideon agreed his next trip to Georgia would include us coming to the Lego store – by ourselves! We both decided we needed to save our nickels and dimes until then.
I have decided instead of wasting my time on another crossword puzzle, I am going to start reconstructing my fairy Lego sets. I’m sure I’ll have to go to the store for some of the pieces and the figurines. I may even glue them together. We’ll see.
I’d better watch Ronald though. His eyes lit up when he learned the Lego store bought old Legos. Remember the old commercial for Eggo Waffles where the one child stole a waffle from the other who yelled, “Let go my Eggo? I may have to yell, “Let go of my LEGOS!
What silly things bring you joy?
Of course, it’s not the deep joy that the Lord gives. His joy isn’t based on circumstances or whether or not there is someone to play Legos with me. The joy of the Lord is based on trusting Jesus as Savior, being in fellowship with Him daily, and knowing I will spend eternity with Him in heaven.
Did you really think I couldn’t mix Legos and God’s Truth? I can, and I did!
Funny rabbit trail. When I was teaching Wednesday nights at church, I got the coolest Lego sets to construct Bible characters and buildings. There are several off-brands that are specially designed for this. But alas! Sigh! My kids (mostly boys) wanted to build guns. I gave up.
Anyway. Find your happy place and celebrate the day!
Blessings
Kara Beth
