Hang On!

My featured image is really fuzzy, but I have an excuse for posting a less than perfect picture.

So I was going about 65 MPH ( in a 45) on the way home from town. This creature was holding onto my car. I don’t know how, but he held on at that speed for over 4 miles! Once I pulled into our driveway, he calmly wandered around my window then proceeded to find a place beneath my hood where he wanted to be. I think I need to put a bug bomb near my engine! If it found its way into the car with me, I’d be driving crazier than I was yesterday!

I was as determined to get a picture of the rascal as he was to hold on. I only went off the road once. You’ve heard the old saying – God protects children, fools, and women drivers? I am a living testament to that truth. Trying to get him correctly in the viewfinder was next to impossible. I kept trying to touch the right button on my camera and get just the right angle, but it was a curvy road, and I had to concentrate a little bit.

Yes it was crazy – both the wasp’s amazing ability and my unwise driving, but the wasp is an inspiration to me. With a goal in mind, I must keep holding on to the dream no matter the winds of opposition.

Our friend posts a video most days on Charles Morning Walk. The last few posts have been about Joseph who has always been one of my favorite Biblical characters. After his God-given dreams, Joseph suffered years of being a slave, was falsely accused and imprisoned, and had multiple disappointments. Joseph finally fulfilled his destiny and saved his own family as his dreams had foretold.

The Bible is full of verses about holding onto our beliefs in a loving God and the truths of Scripture. It also has many encouragements and cautions about carefully following God’s will for our lives. Whether it is a spiritual circumstance or just an earthly day-to-day commitment to our tasks, we are to press on with patience and endurance.

Lord, may it be so in all our lives as we faithfully walk in The Way.

Blessings
