First Day

I survived the first day of my seventh decade. So far, so good.

Except …. Bless my heart! It seems I have more questions than answers.

I’m going to have to live forever to learn what I need to know. Seems like every single day I have to study up on something or research my facts. And goodness knows, you’ve got to believe what you read on the internet! Or as in my case, I take the facts and make them so vague they can apply to my story without some expert telling me I don’t know what I’m talking about. Which 9/10ths of the time I don’t, but if something a little bit factual helps move my story along, I use it. So here’s my advice. Read, consider the source, and go with the flow.

Some days, I have the patience to learn something. Some days, not so much. To accomplish my goals, my goal should be to develop more patience!

My goal for this week is to get my books online by Friday. I’m still working on the print and audio books. We’ll see. But therein lies the tale for the day.

On my webpage, it has a contact page. Great! Except I didn’t have a clue how to access the messages until my web designers patiently worked with me this afternoon. I think I have it figured out. Unless I forget the process. I should have written everything down. Sigh. Some of the messages were a couple of years old. My apologies to those who sent me encouraging words. I guess reading them today may have been the right timing after all.

My sweet writing mentor has wisely counseled me to get an email list of all my contacts. The problem is, I don’t know what to do with the list once I get it! Maybe by the time I can get some rounded up, I’ll figure out what to do with them!

Then there’s the whole FB censoring thing. I’m surprised that some of my rants haven’t been ‘fact checked’, but they would probably look at a few more blogs as say. ‘The old lady is nuts anyway, so we don’t have to bother with her.”

So, despite my ramblings above, I do have a word of wisdom and something I know for fact is positively true.

I don’t know what I need to know so I depend on a prayer from Psalm 90:12. Teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.

And a verse of comfort for an old lady who is still trying. Psalm 18:30 God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to Him for protection. NLT

And finally a praise to God, the Giver of all good things. Psalm 136:26 Give thanks to the God of heaven, for His steadfast mercy endures forever.  It is interesting to read different translations God’s steadfastness –  grace, loving-kindness, and love. I say all of the above.

Blessings
