Only God is Holy

Now don’t get me wrong. I say naughty words, so I am not setting myself up as anywhere near perfect! But this is a line I firmly believe and still quote it to my kids and grandkids. I still get the same eye roll or ‘Oh, Mom!’ as a rebuttal.

Holiness is sacred perfection – which only the Triune God can be. Everything else that exists is common and profane in comparison.

Only God is Holy

Cows were worshipped in ancient civilizations. Even Israel fell into this trap. Defecation of any kind is NEVER holy! Last I checked Toledo has never been holy. I don’t even know what a moley is, but I am positive it never was and never will be holy.

Today’s society accepts God’s name being taken in vain. Whether it is as a disrespectful or thoughtless oath or in the misrepresentation of Christianity to the world by a believer, it is not right.

Isaiah 57:15 For this is what the high and majestic one says,  the one who fills the eternal realm with glory,  whose name is Holy:“I dwell in high and holy places but also with the bruised and lowly in spirit, those who are humble and quick to repent. I dwell with them to revive the spirit of the humble, to revive the heart of those who are broken over their sin. Take time to study the holiness of God. It is interesting to see the reaction of those to whom God spoke. They did not take His Presence lightly!

Lord, help us all value Your Holiness in our words and deeds.
