Candle of Peace

Week Four:  The pink candle of Peace; the Angel Candle

Two artists were commissioned to paint a picture of their view of what peace looked like to them.

The first artist painted a body of water, calm, sunshine, and clouds reflected in the calmness of the water; shades of blue, and a lovely sunset.

The second artist painted a rainstorm on a river between cliffs: winds blowing, seas turning, angry clouds, and to the left of the scene, in the cleft of a rock, sat a bird, perched and chirping, unharmed.

What does peace look like to you this season, this political environment, in your mind, heart and family?

We have choices: to rely on feelings or thoughts when we make the choice what to be, say and do.

Thou will keep him in perfect peace whose mind (not feelings/emotions) is stayed on Thee:

“Practical” would you say? Where the mind goes the rest follows.

Did you answer the phone with a hearty “ho ho ho” last week? Hang mistle toe? Jingle some bells?

Monday  Button up your overcoat; don’t be a Scrooge; make peace with your parents.

Luke 1:13-14

Tuesday Kiss and rub noses like “Eskimoses”

Jeremiah 29:11

2 Corinthians 9:15

Saturday Christmas Day: December 25, 2021 the white center candle – white as snow

The Prince of Peace has come, the star and angels sing are leading the shepherds and wisemen to his place of birth:  Google on Youtube any of “Andre Reiu Christmas” for some beautiful, sensational music.

Luke 2:7, John 1: 1-20 Matthew 1:23 Isaiah 7:14

Peace be still; my peace I give to you.

Receive it and believe it.

Webster’s definition of Peace: to confirm an agreement; freedom from or stopping of war; freedom from public disturbance; harmony; an undisturbed state of mind: to be silent, keep quiet, calm quiet, tranquility, to effect a reconciliation with. That last one rang true with me: a verb, not a condition.
