Celebrate Life with Trust
Have you ever planned a party and no one came?
I have.
Have you ever had a party and everyone and their grandmas came and stayed?
I have. It was one of the best parties ever!
Every time I plan a party, there is a certain amount of stress involved. But through the years, I have learned a valuable lesson that applies to parties and life in general. Through every circumstance, God takes care of me. I can trust Him like a daddy who loves me very dearly.
Often, I plan activities for Ronald and me. When things don’t work out, I have learned to thank the Lord for His care and move on. I always figure God has protected us in some way.
With our Celebrate Life party only a week away, the weather as cold as a well digger’s destination, and rain in the forecast, I should be concerned. But I’m not. I can’t control the weather, I’m not going to fret about something above my pay grade. God’s got it, one way or the other. Unless we are raptured or it snows, the party will go on! If it snows, the party is canceled. I will be pouting and packing my bags to move to the Caribbean!
I know that the people who are supposed to be here will come. If the weather is bad, my house has held a hundred people before and can do it again. Despite having a dream that I would have insufficient food, I know that has never been the case as my freezer afterward always attests.
I trust in friends that come to our parties, partially because of past experiences. There are several who come early to help set up, bringing chairs, tables, and goodies. There are others (and sometimes the same people) who stay ’til the last dog’s dead. I so appreciate everyone pitching in to make our parties a success.
It’s that way with God. Over and over, He has guided my life, helped in every circumstance, and proven I am putting my trust in the right place. As we say around here, “GOD is GOOD!” to which the response is, “ALL the TIME!!”
You Are Invited to the Second Annual Celebrate Life Come and Go Party on November 13 from 10-3. There will be plenty of Games, Food, and Fun! We are again collecting baby items for the Heritage Pregnancy Center.
