Celebrate Life with a CHOP! And POWER TOOLS!

I’m a day or two late on this one. Ronald is celebrating the Braves’ win. Chop! Chop!

Since I am not a sports fan, I’d better not write on this subject! I’ll just say I hated listening to basketball players’ squeaky shoes. Though one doesn’t see the spitting so much anymore, I hated baseball players’ spitting and adjusting their privates. Football bothered me because they were always crashing their bodies. The only thing about football I liked was wide shoulders and nice backsides. TMI.

Anyway. On to my CELEBRATE LIFE for the day.

CELEBRATE LIFE with POWER TOOLS!

So we got this shed. Before the process is through, I think we will have spent almost as much on fixing it up as we paid for the dern thing! Not really, but I’ve given up counting our trips to Home Depot for necessities. But some of the additions to the building required me to use power tools. And people! You know how I love those things!

Since I want all the garden tools out of the garage (so I can store the more important things of life – my stuff), I bought peg board. We had to use a circular saw to trim it to size. Don’t look too closely at the edge is all I’m sayin’ on that one! It’s been a long while since I had the opportunity to use one of those bad boys, so I am rusty at best.

Next came – how to put up the pegboard. I had the wrong kind of screws, and another trip to Home Depot was in order. I spent the rest of the afternoon screwing the peg board up with my power screw driver. I’m sure it was total overkill. Drilling a screw precisely into every fifth hole was too much, but it was fun. No harm, no foul.

Next came the shelf assembly. Easy peasy! The shelves (cheap ones) will hold as much of the other stuff I don’t want in the garage as possible without collapsing. If there is still too much stuff, I can always do my famous Swedish Death Purge to pare down Ronald’s excess – as long as he doesn’t think he can do it to my stuff!!!

We got paint to seal the floor, but it is too cold today for the paint to set. Since I want the garage somewhat cleaned out before my party next week, I was going to crack the whip and put another power tool out there to warm it up. I could put at least three electric heaters out there but sadly, Ronald was plumb worn out today.

Anyway. Power tools are fun for me. Of course, there is a spiritual application here. Wait for it – – –

The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of His understanding.  He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.

Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion.

But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.     Isaiah 40:28 ff NLT

May you always be plugged in to the true Power.

Blessings
