Critical Mass
Sometimes I think about things that I have no earthly idea about.
Critical mass for example. I can’t remember why I was even thinking about it. Two words that sound fun as you say them over and over. Oh, I remember now.
I was thinking about Christ’s return, and the words came to me.
I decided to look up the meaning of critical mass. The heavy science of nuclear physics was too mind boggling for even one minute of investigation! However, it is a term that is used in retail, in businesses of all kinds, and in leadership skill training. It seems to be the point at which significant change occurs.
One particular review of a book by Malcolm Gladwell was interesting, so I ordered the book. I won’t spout off what it said until I read the book, but he seems to speak of influencers.
Since that relates to my discombobbled and fleeting thoughts, I will take off a little on that as it relates to critical mass and Christianity. And tomorrow is Sunday. So a pre-sermon may be in order. But never fear, it’s not really a sermon – just something to think about.
We as Christians should be the best influencers in the world because we have received the most beautiful message of God’s love. What if we really believed in God’s power? What if we shared the gospel as we have been told to do? What if those who believed in Jesus because our witness helped others to trust in God? What if we really lived like the Bible tells us to – loving others as Christ loves us?
When will the critical mass of the redeemed be reached that propels the world into God’s ultimate plan?
I don’t have answers. I can only answer for me. Will these thoughts about critical mass help me to share God’s love more freely? I pray so.
I did find one verse that supports my thought. Read Matthew 24:3-13 to get the context. Pretty scary stuff.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:14 KJV
