Bob Ross Wanna Be
This is my nerd confession of the day, I used to watch Bob Ross. He was an amazing artist.
I didn’t try anything back then. I just watched and wondered if I could ever do some of what he showed.
Which leads me to today’s blog.
I did a bunch of dirty pours recently. Some are nice but too bland. It was a gloomy day out, so I thought I would develop a new style of painting. I call it ‘The Dirty Pour Meets Bob Ross Wanna Be’ style.
Today’s activity was really Ronald’s fault! He said I shouldn’t decorate for Christmas yet. Personally, I don’t understand it. Hobby Lobby has Christmas stuff up. Why can’t I?
I dutifully promised I would wait until mid -September to put up any ornaments, trees or wreaths. But that doesn’t mean I can’t think on it!
I then rebelled with abandon. I brought out appropriate paint colors, embossing powder, and embossing gun. In rebellion, I repurposed one of the boring dirty pours into the background of the first of my Christmas themed works. So there!
Yeah, I know. I’m not a good artist but man, did I have fun! And I didn’t even get paint on the floor!
And I’ll dutifully put it somewhere until a more appropriate time. I wonder if Ronald would notice it on the hearth.
Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whether you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
All teasing aside, I do thank God for another day to play with paints. And for Christmas decorations. And the real reason for Christmas. And inspirations from strangers. And a husband who makes me laugh and lets me do whatever I please!
Blessings
