Whooped & Happy!
VBS!!!
Need I say more? I sure do!
How fun! I’ve missed working with the kids for the last few years. I got to work arts and crafts and meet all the children coming to VBS this week. I was tired, no – exhausted, at the end of every session, but man! Did I have fun! It would have been more fun if the crafts had included lots of messy paints, but with up to 37 in a class of wiggly pre-K to first graders, that probably wouldn’t have been a good choice.
With themed nights, I got to play dress-up! It doesn’t get better than that! The Knights of NorthRidge abounded with knights and princesses – none of whom would last for a second in a real royal court. But I swear, I never saw a cuter bunch!
I didn’t have the energy to fix my hair for crazy hair night, but hairdos that would have made Dr. Seuss jealous were running all over.
It’s funny. I always wonder how much kids will be influenced by what was done during one exciting, wild, and rambunctious few days of summer. Perhaps more long lasting will be the prayers we older ones pray for the little ones and the young parents who come through the doors.
Pray much for others; plead for God’s mercy upon them; give thanks for all He is going to do for them … so that we can live in peace and quietness, spending our time in godly living and thinking much about the Lord. This is good and pleases God our Savior, for He longs for all to be saved. 1Timothy 2 Living Bible Translation
Dickens wrote, “I love these little people; and it is not a slight thing when they, who are so fresh from God, love us.”
My sentiments exactly. So next month, I may get to work Kid’s Camp! Super fun!
