Ruwn Yad
Sermon Alert!!!
Sometimes, a body can read Scripture and about get the victory! My studies this month have me in Exodus. I use Enduring Word as a study aid to help explain some of the background of each story. Exodus 14 was today’s lesson.
Anyone who has read my blogs knows I have a wee bit of an authority problem. I learned the coolest words in this story – Ruwn yad – boldness against authority.
In this day when everything is going to hell in a hand basket, believers need to stand firm against the wickedness of the world and those who would force us into evil’s mold. Get the RUWN YAD mentality that comes from a firm belief in a Holy God and His awesome power!
Israel had gone out of Egypt with ‘ruwn yad’.
UNTIL
They saw the bad guys, fully armed and furious coming after them. At that point, the Israelites were scared spitless and totally abandoned their boldness. They had already forgotten that during all the plagues that nearly destroyed Egypt, they were totally untouched by God’s wrath on those who had kept His people in bondage. They squalled and bawled and complained to Moses.
Verses 13 and 14 tell the truth of the matter that applied then as it does now!
“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. … The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
Then God told Moses to get moving as He provided the way.
I don’t know what you are struggling against, but know that God loves you and already has a plan in place! Trust Him.
That’s it. Have a great Easter! Embrace the valuable lessons from the story in Exodus as it applies to the beautiful Resurrection story and your life today!
Blessings
