Sunday Touch Ups

I’m trying hard not to do household chores on Sundays but sometimes there’s a hard choice. I can either go nuts walking around the little specks on my white floors or I can take a second to clean up. I think I’ve found a balanced solution.

On Sundays, I use my tiny, easy to use vacuum. Monday is my  heavy cleaning and laundry day when I pull out my heavy duty vacuum and then do the serious mopping. During the rest of the week, depending on if Ronald is in the middle of gardening season or not, I use the vacuum that is appropriate for the task. I still have to vacuum every day, but on Sundays I do like to take a wee bit of a rest.

As I was thinking today about my choice to vacuum or not,  I had to come up with an object lesson and a sermon since it is Sunday!

We try to be faithful to go to church. That has always been part of our lives. Our pastor shares sermons on Sundays that give us instructions for a quick clean up of attitudes and life issues. The rest of the week it is up to us to spend time doing serious Bible study and praying to clean up the matters that would cause us to falter or fail.

There! That wasn’t too much of a sermon!

Create in me a clean heart, O God,  and renew a right spirit in me. Psalm 51:10
