Tools to Stand

In March of last year, I had double knee replacement. For a few days, I needed crutches or a walker to stand. Thankfully, all went well  – other than blowing out my lungs when I tried to show how tough I was. Other than that, in no time I was standing firmly on my own two legs. I hobbled for a short while, but now I’m good to go.

In life, we often have events that slow us down. We may stumble along. We may even fail a time or two. We deal with issues that we find hard to explain. As I develop yesterday’s thoughts for you, I want to share not only Biblical Truth, but also give you resources to aid you in your Christian walk and to share your beliefs with others. I want to give you strong legs of faith to stand on!

People sometimes ask where you were when a significant historical event happpened. I remember thinking at the time of the Roe vs. Wade discussion, that none of it applied to me. I would not be killing a baby if I were blessed to become pregnant. Even though I was a Christian and knew God would not approve of abortion,  I honestly didn’t care about the issue. Is that sad, or what? Even now, my uncaring attitude makes me want to weep!

Millions upon millions have since been slaughtered in the name of population control and choice. How would the world be different if those sweet little ones had been allowed to live? Would one of them have developed a cure for cancer?

Here’s a better question. Mary conceived Jesus basically out of wedlock. What if she had feared the verbal abuse she would endure throughout her life to the point that she did away with God’s Son? Because of her belief and obedience, Jesus was born to redeem the world from sin.

A few years ago, we were blessed to meet a very dynamic and articulate young man, Josh Brahm,  who runs a group called The Equal Rights Institute. I pray you will consider becoming involved in today’s issues that go against God’s Word. Don’t be afraid to take a stand against evil!
