Constitutional Oaths

Yeah, so this is a political rant. Deal or don’t read.

Back in the day, we studied The Declaration of Independence, The Constitution, and The Bill of Rights which were written by an amazing group of geniuses who cared about devising a lasting system of government FOR and BY the people. Three different times in our schooling, we studied the documents that insured our freedoms from a repressive government. Three times we were required to pass an exam with an acceptable score in order to pass on to the next level or graduate.

Funny thing about the old saying that history repeats itself. The framers of the Declaration of Independence suffered for their stand against tyranny and injustice. I’m pretty sure that in the near future those of us who are willing to sacrifice will become the next generation of freedom fighters. (I’m giving up my fairy godmother persona to don my super hero cape of Freedom Fighter Grammie!)

I’m sure most of today’s youth do not study, nor could they pass an exam on the contents of the above mentioned documents. I’m pretty sure in most of our institutions of indoctrination, students are taught to scorn the basic freedoms on which this country was founded.

I’m pretty positive that 90% of the ‘duly elected’ government officials who take an oath to faithfully uphold and swear  allegiance to The Constitution don’t have a clue what the foundational decrees even say!

God, have mercy! Which leads me from today’s rant to the sermon of the day.

Know what God’s Word says. Be careful to follow it closely. And for goodness sake! Please teach your children the Truth of God’s Word!!!

In Deuteronomy 11, God instructs us to obey God’s Word, love the Lord with all our hearts, souls, and minds, and “Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” There are wonderful promises for those who live by those mandates.
