Fractious Seas and ME!
Lord, have mercy! I am fractious today! I know. I just need to toughen up! No excuses. Several reasons, but no reason not to choose godliness.
Friday, we drove home from Florida. My back, hips, and sits bones took a beating. I kerflunked myself into bed on Saturday night. The hip I landed on popped and has hurt like a son-of-a-gun ever since.
Back in the day, I used to brag about my pain tolerance. NOT ANYMORE!
Yeah, I know. What a whiner.
The sea was calm part of last week. The last two days, the wind blew and the sea roared beautifully. The fractious waves were a wonderful sight to behold.
With God’s help today, I am determined to turn my pain and fractious attitude around. Otherwise, Ronald will get another butt-chewin’! Not a good choice for sure! I will not end up as beautiful as the fractious seas, but may the Lord help me be pleasing in His sight.
Finding Scripture is easy. Obeying it is difficult.
Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let Your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4–7
I wish Paul had added guarding my mouth!
Shout for joy, you heavens; rejoice, you earth; burst into song, you mountains! For the Lord comforts His people and will have compassion on His afflicted ones. Isaiah 49:13
Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. Habakkuk 3:17-18
