Mr. Biggins

It’s fun meeting new people. We are in Florida for the week which of course necessitated a trip to Walmart. As I was gathering my things from the basket on my way out, the greeter/aka security guard manned his post. I glanced at his name tag and read Biggins.  That’s about right, thought I. He’s big enough to wrastle elephants! With well developed arms and shoulders, anyone even thinking of doing something wrong in the hallowed aisles of Walmart would surely have second thoughts!

One more glance at my basket assured me I was leaving nothing. One more glance at Mr. Biggins had me laughing hysterically. When I got control, I shared my mistake with the good natured behemoth. With a wonderfully deep laugh, Mr. RIGGINS joined my laughter.

Later in the day, Ronald and I were looking out from our condo balcony. It is very chilly this time of year and way too cold to even wade at the shore’s edge.

“Look at those crazies out there! Can you believe those two are snorkeling in this cold water?!! says I. “I sure hope they have on wet suits.”

Ronald giggled at me. “Kara Beth, those are two birds with very long necks floating in the water.”

My new contacts will be in next week. Hopefully, my eyesight will improve.

But you know, seeing the physical world isn’t as important as other ways. The Bible is full of thoughts about eyesight. We need to see others through the filter of God’s loving heart. See and meet the needs of others. See each day’s miracles that God sends our way. See the log in our own eyes before trying to get the speck from another’s eye. Defeat spiritual blindness by ridding our lives  of rebellion, hardness of heart, and disobedience against the things of God.

Life is all about choices. Please see things God’s way!  “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” Matthew 5:8
