Perspective

As I was blending the yolks of eggs for deviled eggs, I placed my little mixer and the bowl in the sink. I was afraid with my luck I would end up with the yellow mix splattered here and yon. I didn’t have time for a messy cleanup because I had waited until the last minute to make one of my family’s favorite side dishes.

I don’t cook as much as I should. Probably. Or not! As you’ve read, my luck with cooking is iffy to downright bad. The last time I made raspberry bars, I broke my heavy duty mixer. That was the reason for using the little mixer.

I am pretty short. Usually the side of the mixer is at eye level. Imagine my surprise when I saw the Power Boost button on the top of the mixer! Sure, I had wiped the appliance many times in the past, but this was the first time I noticed the special button.

It became my thinking point for the day. How many times do I look at life and others from my own limited perspective? How many times would I be better off if I tried to see situations and people from God’s higher, all-knowing perspective? How many times have I missed out on God’s best by using my own energy and efforts instead of His Power?

Anyway. It was a win-win-win cooking experience. The eggs turned out just right. There were no major messes. I had something special to think about to draw me closer to God. Can’t beat that with a stick!

Blessings!

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, saith the Lord.  Isaiah 58:8 KJV

If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him; He will not resent it.       James 1:5 TLB
