Just Me and Old Julius

I have a word of wisdom for the ladies.

Do not go to the hairdresser when you are fractious, frustrated, frazzled, fatigued, or feeling frumpy. You may end up being a Julius Caesar doppelgänger.

I had no idea what my instructions to my excellent haircutter would look like. I wanted an inch to an inch and a half cut from my already short hair. Or so I thought. At the first snip I knew. As the chunk of hair fell to my shoulders, it was too late to go back.

Straight on, the haircut is cute. From the back, I look like a little boy’s behind. From the side, the view is –  well – indescribable. I haven’t had my hair this short in many years – before my double chin sagged awkwardly down my neck. Maybe next time I’ll get a neck lift instead of a haircut.

There’s a good thing about a haircut. In three weeks or so, I’ll be complaining about my bangs being too long. Give me a month or two and I’ll be heading back her way. Just for a trim though.

Which gets me to thinking preachy stuff.

How many times have I done impulsive, mean things to others when I’m tired or on edge? How many times have I said hurtful words that will ring in the ears of others for years?

I pray that my pride will not stand in the way of a healthy relationship caused by cruelty, disrespect, or unintentional slights. Sometimes, a simple “I’m sorry” will undo the pain I’ve caused. Some things I do are irreparable.

Think about it.

Anyway, I’ve got a Do that will easy to style. In the meantime, me and old Julius will conquer the world. Or some other nonsense.

Blessings

To all my friends who cringe at my poor language and abominable punctuation, remember my byline – Somewhere between nonsense and knowledge. But be assured however, my Bible verses are ALWAYS serious truths.

Romans 8:37-39

Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
