Picture Perfect – Almost

My PhotoShop teacher, Amber, would be so proud of me. I took a whole bunch of pictures that will need serious editing!

I didn’t take my good camera this trip because I was afraid it would get sand in it. I took my phone to the beach. The only thing is, I couldn’t see what I was taking a picture of because of the sun! I cut off heads, took great umbrella shots, and excelled with what I artistically call my famous ‘thumb print’ shots.

However, my mind has been taking perfect pictures all week. For example, I will have a memory picture of a group of cousins and siblings who played together so sweetly. When I approached the mom and asked if those kids belonged to her, I saw her hesitancy to allow me to continue to speak. When I told her how impressed I was with their behavior and kindness to each other, I will remember her proud smile.

Another little sibling group of three shared a paddle board. Their antics and laughter tickled us old folks.

Dads threw footballs to their little ones; people flew giant kites; family groups huddled under shades. Others played corn hole and harassed each other. Those are smiling moments.

What makes a Grammie smile most is her own little ones. Dylan has been such a delight. He wasn’t thrilled to be walking in the sand until he got used to balancing. Granddaddy was wearing his hat backward. Dylan immediately took off his own cap and turned it just like Grandaddy. Seeing Dylan walk hand in hand with his daddy and snuggle with his mama – now those, folks, are worthy mind pictures.

Since God is our heavenly Father, I wonder what He sees in us. Does He enjoy His children as we do ours?

It’s a corny post. Just deal.

Blessings and happy memory making!
