Christmas Time’s a Comin’
If Hobby Lobby has their Christmas decorations up, does that mean I can put mine up now?
Oh, that’s right. I still have some of mine out from last year … and the year before … and the years before.
I love Christmas, and I love object lessons – mini reminders to think about God stuff. I’m sure I’ve mentioned this in other blogs, but I’ll tell it again like some old lady who can’t remember the tales I’ve told before. Not that I would know about old or anything.
Between loving Christmas and liking bling, I’ve got numbers of shiny Christmas things hanging about. I have sparkly orbs hiding in my plants. Glittery stars adorn at least three trellises in the living room plants. Stars remind me that wise women still seek Him.
Dylan found one star planted among the pothos. He immediately uprooted the star and slung dirt on the white floors. When Missy scolded him, Grammie said the dirt would vacuum up and no harm was done. Of course I did. He is WAY too cute to scold at Grammie’s house!
Harps, glitter drums, and angels round out the year-round decorations. No apologies needed. Those who come to my house aren’t here to critique my decorations or eat my excellent cooking.
I have decided to wait until late August to put up more Christmas decorations. As I am already planning the next Christmas party, I don’t think it’s too early, do you?
Blessings
