Nose Swabs and Other Good Stuff
Mercy!
Have you had one of those Covid nose swabs yet? Don’t if you can help it! As if a heart cath isn’t going to be bad enough, they insisted on a swab. Whoo-ee! I thought she was going to poke my brains and make what’s left of my good sense leak plum out!
Since I haven’t heard back from them yet, I’m assuming I’m safe and the procedure is on for the morning.
I ordered a cake for the surgical staff. It’s always a good thing to sweeten up those who will be cutting on me. Except they said because of covid, they couldn’t accept the extra large sheet cake I had ordered. The bakery had already made the cake, so I had a number of choices.
I could bring the entire thing home and eat the entire thing in one fell swoop. I could cut it in sections and freeze it in reasonable pieces and still overeat. I chose door number 3. I decided to take it to my other heart doctor who will share it with Wednesday night church.
At my age, the physical heart needs a 100,000 mile tune-up. I’m thankful for the skill and wisdom of that doctor. I trust a good roto – router clean out will keep me tickin’ for a few more years.
At every age, my spiritual heart has needed a checkup with daily prayer and Bible study.
For extra heart maintenance, I am thankful for the spiritual doctors who have faithfully ministered to me through the years. Challenging, comforting, instructing, and enlightening words have helped me along the way to my eternal home.
Anyway. There’s the words to think on today.
Blessings
