What If?
What if there is a really wild way to end the riots? Would you help?
Sorry, today is sermon day.
2 Chronicles relates how Israel was going to be attacked. King Jehoshaphat called the people to fast and pray. Then he sent musicians into battle first. They sang to the Lord, praising Him for His greatness and splendor. They sang songs of thanksgiving – “His love endures forever”. Read the chapter for yourself to see the end of the story.
Paul and Silas were chained in a horrible prison, yet they sang praises to God. Their shackles fell off. As a result of this miracle, the jailer and his household believed in Jesus.
As you know, I am a strong proponent of music and its power to bring the very Presence of God into our souls. Music can change hearts and situations.
What if, every time we knew there would be a riot, we would sing praises to God for who He is, His miraculous power, and His love that endures forever?
As believers who have strong, spiritual precedences clearly written in the Scripture, wouldn’t it be worth trying? In faith, do we believe the battle belongs to the Lord?
What if?
