Saints and American Spunk
Well, glory!
I learned a lesson or two while sewing a custom mask. Since I have to wear one when I go to physical therapy, I thought I may as well make one that fit well. I found material that matches absolutely nothing in my wardrobe but an old pair of earrings. I’ll have to improvise and wear black I suppose. Anyway … I decided to use some florist ribbon that has thin wire so the mask will fit snugly around my nose. That worked pretty well. Then came the elastic. Mercy! Elastic and I never did see eye to eye. Mask making for me is a project that almost brought out my plumber’s vocabulary!
In the end I decided that this will be my once and done mask.
I decided that those making masks for others are absolute saints. Those people and others that are filling the gap by making other products needed in this time show what America is made of – strength, ingenuity, generosity, and spunk! Lord, bless them all!
I learned that my good Ginger Scissors do not like florist’s ribbon. I also learned my new prescription of blood thinner works. One nip and I ended up with blood flecks all over the mask. I have to wash it every time I wear it anyway. It’ll come out by the time the crisis is over. No worries. Then I can always wear it as an unusual accessory to hide my double chin! Works for me!
Speaking of worries … I trust that you are trusting in the one who is in control – the Lord God Himself!
Isaiah 41:10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
