Pinterest Fails and Split-tailed Gowns
In my frenzy to clean, sort, and complete projects on my way to ‘getting my act together before surgery’, I decided to make me a robe.
If you’ve ever been in the hospital, you know modesty is thrown to the four winds. In my attempt to conceal what no one in their right mind wants to see or even envision, I was going to make myself a long, warm, black, flowing robe. I had one, but I lost it. I was going to get this one done before my hospital stay but make it fancier.
I saw this really cool painting technique on Pinterest called balloon dirty pour. I decided to apply paint to the robe. Bright colors and a chaotic design, what’s not to love?
Well, bless my heart. I did a good job of not spilling paint anyway. That’s a good thing. I applied paint to the right half of the front panel of the robe. I even followed directions. Mostly. Like most dirty pour directions, the video was a little vague on measurements and ratios.
Sadly, the painted material looked nothing like the YouTube video. I must have missed something in the translation.
But I decided no harm, no foul. I am going to let it dry overnight and put more paint on it tomorrow. It definitely has potential.
I won’t get it done in time, but hey! It took my mind off serious things with a few minutes of gloriously messy fun. Can’t beat that!
Just like you can’t believe everything you read on the internet, you can’t try everything and expect it to look like a real artist did it. But like my attitude about finding something to celebrate every day, I like to have a wee bit of fun every day. Laughing at my own jokes, beating Ronald at Hudd Rummy, watching old videos of the grandkids. Life is good. Celebrate and Enjoy!
Psalm 150:1-2 Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary’ praise Him in His mighty heavens! Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
Maybe even praise Him for letting me have fun!
Blessings
