Fancy Gimps and Mind Reboots

Because I needed loose pants to accommodate my knee surgery, I had to buy a whole new wardrobe with loose fitting britches. I usually wear tight legged pants which explains my penchant for long tunic tops to hide my more than adequate backside! Anyway, that was my excuse. Ronald says I’ll be the best dressed gimp in rehab.

The new clothes are adequately funky to lift my spirits. I went to my favorite way to shop. I let my fingers do the walking as an old advertisement admonished.

However, buying online has its drawbacks. Though the matching blouses fit elsewhere, they all needed adjustments for my narrow shoulders. The pants are all too long for this little fat girl, so I struggled to hem one pair for over an hour. The pants slithered this way and that. I pinned, measured, cut, serged, re-pinned, and said a few words I reserve for plumbing repairs. I finally gave up and went to bed.

As I lay quietly and thought through the day, the easy solution to my problem instantly came to my mind.

Isn’t it amazing how problems that are overwhelming one minute are completely solved the next?

Sometime, even as adults, we need a time out chair. Thinking time makes a powerful difference. God makes our minds wonderful super-processors that simply need a re-boot. My word of wisdom for the day is – Relax and reboot!
