One in a Million

Well, bless my heart.

The National Safety Council says that messing with a cell phone while driving ends up in 1.6 million crashes each year.

Add mine to the list.

At least it was in my own driveway. And I did only hit my other car. More like we kissed bumpers.

It was due to cell phone use, though. I was plugging in the address of my hairdresser. I have been there and driven myself a number of times. I just don’t trust my memory to get me where I need to go in a timely and straight, rather than circuitous, fashion. I should have known the way and not needed the GPS. I should not have started the car beforehand. After that, I must have had a brain-fluff and should not have let my foot off the brake.

I oozed into the other vehicle. Rather loudly. Ronald came running outside. When I explained, he checked both bumpers.

No harm, no foul. What’s a few more scratches?

As I waited for Ronald to fill up the car yesterday, an old woman who could barely walk got in her car and drove away. My critical spirit proudly reported my disapproval of her driving to Ronald.

Hmm. The Lord does have a way of keeping me humble. That’s a fact!

This verse in Matthew 7 about says it all. “Do not judge so you won’t be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.”

Ouch!

Blessings any way!
